2016 Coat-A-Kid Kickoff!

What an enthusiastic group we had helping us kickoff our annual Coat-A-Kid program. Lodge Community School was the venue and the wonderful students served as our joyful cheering section. Also on hand to launch our 30th year of the program were representatives from organizations that distribute the coats.

And who joined us there in spirit? You, our valued customers, who so generously support our efforts year-after-year by donating children’s coats. If you’re a customer who’s new to the area, we invite you to come aboard as we band together to keep our area kids warm this winter.

Here’s How Coat-A-Kid Works:

  • Now through December 31, bring gently used or new coats to any of our nine Don’s Dry Cleaning & Laundry locations in Evansville and Newburgh
  • Coats of all sizes are needed, especially those for infants and smaller children
  • The coats will be cleaned, if needed
  • Donated coats will be distributed via the Salvation Army, Evansville Christian Life Center, and at Hope Central on North Second Street in Boonville

There is a Need and Coat-A-Kid Makes a Difference.

Annually, about 5,000 children receive coats through the program. And in its 30 years, the Coat-A-Kid initiative has distributed approximately 150,000 coats locally. My staff is fantastic when it comes to Coat-A-Kid—this is out of their ordinary work. Everybody just works as a team and does what needs to be done. And they enjoy it. The pride is overwhelming. And so is YOUR generosity!

Thanks for your business. Hope to see you soon. ~ Steve Schmitt
